Our love of firearms is not limited to the laboratory but also their use in the field. Often the firearm deployed in the field has been modified or may contain aftermarket parts.
We have attended a considerable number of armorer courses and can evaluate firearms for safety and functionality issues. We have also provided assistance to law enforcement agencies assistance in selecting service ammunition and calibers.

Our History
Sandstone Forensics, LLC was founded in 2023 with a mission to provide quality, timely, and impartial forensics services to our community. We specialize in crime scene reconstruction and work closely with prosecutors, defense lawyers, and investigators who require unbiased and confidential expertise in forensic evidence examination and expert testimony. Sandstone was chosen to represent our company because it symbolizes truth, strength, and durability, much like the essential forensic training we provide. It is also a main feature of some of our favorite rock formations in our beloved Mojave Desert.
Our Team
Glenn Davis and Kathy Geil form a highly skilled team of Forensic Scientists with over 45 years of combined experience. We are dedicated to providing the highest level of service to our clients, specializing in forensic evidence examination, firearms and toolmark examination, and expert testimony. Our services also include forensic training, investigative case analysis, firearm safety and design evaluation, research assistance and mentoring, shooting trajectory and crime scene reconstruction, serial number restorations, officer involved shooting analysis, bloodstain pattern analysis, cartridge case ejection pattern testing, NIBIN process development and training, shoe/tire/fabric impression analysis, fracture pattern examination, traditional and Rapid DNA processing and analysis, technical peer review, backlog reduction, quality management and accreditation guideline review (ISO 17025/17020), and policy/standards procedures and laboratory development.
